5 minutes of Cyclic Sighing is thought to be equivalent to a 20-minute meditation!
Breath-work and the Cyclic sighing Technique:
Cyclic Sighing is a breath technique involving a half-inhale through your nose, then holding and taking a second breath through your nose, filling your lungs all the way, and exhaling slowly through your mouth.
Just 5 minutes of cyclic sighing is thought to be the equivalent of a 20-minute meditation.
Led by Dr. Spiegel, Andrew Huberman and Melis Yilmaz Balban. A study at Stanford University testing breathing routines to combat anxiety found that the Cyclic Sighing control group had the greatest daily improvements and a positive effect that increased over time.
This may be an alternative to medicine to combat anxiety.
